Recession? What recession?

Well, feeling the need to do my part to keep the economy afloat, a dropped a few dollars on a new bike. I'm not getting rid of the old one mind you, just adding to my collection. I love my old bike and I'm never getting rid of it and I will still ride it for all things triathlon related. But the new bike is a road bike - to take with me the next time I go on a European cycling trip....and I suppose for biking to work until then.

Business Trips - Amy Style

So Amy scored a business trip to DC (well, Richmond anyway - close enough) which naturally meant non stop activity for the 3 days she was here. Happy hour and dinner out Friday night (she was desperately in search of good Mexican food, having had her fill of the U.K. version), swimming and breakfast and bike shop visit Saturday morning, coffee and shopping Saturday afternoon, party at Lori's Saturday night, biking Sunday, more coffee and an overview of the Ironman Switzerland course from our new friend Matt on Sunday, and another dinner out Sunday night. I still don't think I've caught up on my sleep! It was a totally fun weekend.

(Note: Sam is still the best foster dog ever and spoiled rotten! He does seem to have a bit of an eating disorder these days though, and won't be losing "The Fat One" label anytime soon I'm afraid.)

Lunar Eclipse

I arrived home from swim practice last night just in time to catch a glimpse of the lunar eclipse! A lunar eclipse occurs when the moon passes through the earth's shadow. I wish I'd had my dad's telescope to get an up close look at it - the zoom lens on my camera just doesn't quite cut it - and you will probably have to expand these pictures to see anything at all.

Nolan and Quinton McEnaney

On December 29th, 2007, Bryan and Laura's twins Nolan and Quinton were born. I went over for a visit last week where I got to hold both of them, and experience a few hours of life with a toddler and twin newborns. Bryan and Laura definitely have their hands full! Hopefully everyone will start getting more sleep in the near future!

Karen and Nathan Come to Visit!

It is always fun to catch up with my friend Karen. We can go months without seeing each other, and these days with only an occasional email in between visits, yet when we meet up we just pick right up where we left off. The sign of a true friend. So we had lunch and caught up while Nathan spent quality time with his grandparents - but not before I got a picture of those beautiful blue eyes!

Emily Comes to Visit!

Back from Vienna to visit for a few days, Emily couldn't miss Dori's sprint workout and bar night!
