Signs You're In Alaska!

After my visit with Jessica, I headed up to Anchorage, AK to meet Marj for 2 weeks of what we referred to as "Summer Camp for Adults." The itinerary included:
  • Drive to Chitna and take a bush plane into McCarthy, in the heart of Wrangell St. Elias National Park. Spend 4 days, hiking, rafting, and being cut off from the outside world.
  • Drive to Valdez for more hiking and some kayaking before catching the ferry across Prince William Sound to Whittier.
  • Drive to Seward to explore the Kenai Fjords National Park by kayak and visit the Exit Glacier. And enjoy some fresh seafood!
  • Drive to Cooper Landing, for horseback riding and some the best fishing in Alaska.
  • Drive to Talkeetna and use this mount climbing town as our base for visiting Denali National Park (via mountain bike) and to fish for arctic grayling.

It was a jam packed 2 weeks and it couldn't have been more fun! More posts on each place to follow, but for now, here are some signs (and other odds and ends) I captured along the way that gave me a good laugh.
